What does nerfed mean in diablo 3

We recently made some decisions to adjust or outright nerf a few class skills, and today we wanted to explain our overall philosophy on design changes -- as well as give some insight into some more changes that are coming up.

Before we get to that, though, we thought it'd be fun to share a few interesting stats we've collected since Diablo III's release:. Inferno is intended to be extremely difficult, but with some specific skills, a few classes were simply able to progress far more easily than intended.

This made the classes, which were about where they were supposed to be, seem very underpowered. It also created the perception that the classes doing well were intended to rely on specific runes in all their builds, and the other classes were just broken.

We know these hotfixes snuck up on people, and it took us a day or so to communicate that they had gone live. Comparing an ilvl 63 blue to an ilvl 60 Legendary will hopefully make a bit more sense afterward. Skip to Main Content Skip to Footer. Overwatch League. Log In. Try Free Now. When it comes to making game changes, in general, our intent is to react quickly to critical design and balance issues, bugs, and other problems that seriously conflict with our design intent through hotfixes.

We have a patch coming within the next week patch 1. Is it still viable for GRs at least? Asking, cause I only play DH…. Your arguements are weak and have been picked apart in this thread. Whether the strength of your build allows you to clear GR 80, or GR , the gameplay is exactly the same. You are not experiencing new content, you are just seeing higher numbers without a purpose.

Compare it to say an MMO like WoW where higher numbers would lead you to clear higher difficulty raid, it actually results in something meaningful there.

In here, it does not. In that game you experience true progression used to atleast , in this game you do not. So what actually should matter here is how strong a build is relative to other builds.

Whether the bar is set at , or is largely irrelevant. What I do not want is some manchild obsessed with his crazy OP build dictating the finetuning process. Especially since that higher clear is not a result of your own progression. I would like builds to be far closer to each other than they are now. Everything else has been said in this thread, regarding the pros and cons of buffing. The difference between GR 80 and GR is actually big, cause if I can farm GR just as easy as I could farm 80 few seasons ago it means I progress at least in grinding paragons.

I mean those who have and we all know that the highier paragon you have the highier you can progress in GRs which is the endgame. Some may clear a specifc GR with paragons only while others need to do the same….

Everyone in the end want the same whether they admit it or not. In D3 vanilla everyone just ran Act 3. Now all we do is bounites, rifts and greater rifts. Endless paragongrind is garbage. And the point is not to clear as high a rift number as possible due to arbitrary buffs. You are, since by not allowing them to nerf outliers, you are expecting them to instead buff each and every single build up to that level.

This is disingenuous at the very least, since you know damn well it will require far more effort than they are willing to put in. It can also be endgame activities, pvpve-like. It can be many things. It's all about what you want to do. The XP nerf doesn't affect solo player nor casual players - if you count also HP nerfs solo play has become more than viable. Really when I started this post I was trying to start a discussion and it that i feel it was a success. Since reading the posts I understand the exp.

This game is a pure grind, I will agree with that, but it should never be a pure grind for XP to get raw stat advantages over other less fortunate players. I want this game to reward those who play a lot, and it does because they get more loot drops, mats, etc The solution aside from my xp suggestion above is simple. Paragon cap at in season only, non-season it is infinite. This brings parody to the leaderboards, which is exactly what it should be about.
